EFECTOS DEL TRATAMIENTO CON TAMOXIFENO EN LA FUNCIÓN SEXUAL EN MUJERES CON CÁNCER DE MAMA: REVISIÓN DE LITERATURA

Introducción: las mujeres que reciben tratamiento médico con tamoxifeno para el cáncer de mama pueden experimentar alteraciones en su función sexual, como disfunciones en el deseo, la excitación, la lubricación y la satisfacción sexual, afectado significativamente su calidad de vida.
Objetivo: determinar el efecto del tratamiento con tamoxifeno en la función sexual de mujeres con cáncer de mama, entre los años 2013 y 2023.
Metodología: el estudio empleó un análisis documental retrospectivo cualitativo en forma de revisión de alcance.
Resultados: la revisión reveló que las mujeres que utilizan tamoxifeno como tratamiento para su cáncer de mama experimentan disfunciones sexuales como trastorno de interés/excitación, dolor génito-pélvico durante la penetración y desorden orgásmico. Por otro lado, también se evidenció que aquellas mujeres sometidas a quimioterapia más tamoxifeno para tratar su cáncer de mama presentan un efecto mayor en su función sexual que aquellas que sólo utilizan tamoxifeno.
Conclusión: los tratamientos contra el cáncer de mama que emplean quimioterapia o supresión de función ovárica junto con tamoxifeno tienen un efecto negativo mayor en la función sexual de las mujeres, en comparación con los tratamientos que consideran el uso de tamoxifeno exclusivamente.
